The Idiots Are Winning

Let me start here by pointing out something: I don’t own a gun. I’m not a huge second amendment guy. I have no stake in the NRA. I just have a brain. That I use sometimes. I apologize in advance for that. I can’t seem to help it.

So:

A pathetic moron gets angry about being rejected by women and goes on a killing spree in Santa Barbara. He starts by stabbing three people in his apartment– stabbing, with a knife– and then switches to guns and kills a young man named Christopher Martinez and five others.

Martinez’s father blames Republican politicians and the NRA.

Mr. Martinez, serious question: You’re understandably bereft, but do the stabbing victims not count because they weren’t stabbed with guns? Who would you be furious with if the idiot had stuck with knives and stabbed your son to death like he did the first three? Would it no longer count because guns weren’t to blame?

This story proves more than anything that murderous idiots will murder whether guns are available or not. And yet even a victim’s father would prefer to flush the last shred of common sense and blame conservatives instead of the actual murderer.. I feel for him. But that’s hopelessly, almost willfully idiotic.

It’s like someone pushing another person off a cliff and the victim’s father blaming gravity (and those pesky scientists who invented it).

This is modern logic.

Ozzie Osbourne has been lauded lately for the following quotable quote:

“I keep hearing this [expletive] thing that guns don’t kill people, but people kill people. If that’s the case, why do we give people guns when they go to war? Why not just send the people?”

Do I really need to ask the obvious question here? Ozzie, if guns kill people, then when we go to war why don’t we just send the [expletive] guns?

I’m not a gun owner. I don’t particularly like them. I don’t belong to the NRA. I don’t care. But I do have a functioning brain that can no longer abide blatant, empty folly being lauded as deeply profound wisdom.

The idiots are winning. I don’t want to live on this planet any longer.
