Media Blackout or Non-Story?

Media Blackout or Non-Story?

I admit I am only now hearing about this.  Media blackout or non-story?  Would love comments.

Wow, it’s truly scary to know the media avoids writing/publishing stories because of their reporter’s/editor’s personal beliefs. When I was a Media major over 20 years ago, we were taught to be unbiased and report only verified truth, unless it was an editorial. The quip in media is “if it bleeds, it leads”. How is this horrific case not covered in the media? It’s disgusting and gut-wrenching, and scary as all get-out for those who want so much to believe a fetus isn’t a human being. Not to be trite, but consider if these were animals being treated in this manner. What if this mutilation happened to dogs/puppies? It would be the lead story on many a news station and newspaper. Not many can tolerate the inhumane treatment of animals, but these same people can certainly tolerate the inhumane treatment of humans.

Looks like he asks some great questions about policy concerns, but the HuffPost was the first result when I asked le Google about Gosnell trial. Here’s their search result:

None of those stories defend the guy, and they all come from the crim section, which makes sense. I think the problem in the GetReligion post that is accurately pointed out is that Akin, Komen and the third story shouldn’t have been covered as health policy news.
